I've just heard that there was a major fire on the second pier at Brighton. What I'd like to know is if this'll be quickly repaired if possible and also why there hasn't been Government money to restore the other collapsed pier a long time ago.
What lack of pride in these famous structures. What is a tourist supposed to think when they see decaying pieces of our heritage?

Most of England's heritage is decaying. :-/ Tourists travel around England going, "aww, ain't that old, I'll ave a photo of that" no doubt the same will happen at Brighton.

The council should be ashamed of themselves. It's to be hoped and expected that they do something.

Yeah they should. I remember going to the Brighton Pier when I was a kid. Great fun, cold though.

Speaking of Minder, Ray bought an Arc to manage the store in "today's" episode on ITV4.
